Alfredo De Massis

Alfredo De Massis is a Professor of Entrepreneurship & Family Business at the University of Chieti-Pescara and IMD. He does research and teaches at different business schools in different counties besides serving as advisor to family enterprises, family offices and policy makers. Ranked as the #1 most impactful family business professor worldwide in the researcher ranking created by Texas State University, as the leading (#1) family business academic globally in a 2024 study published in Small Business Economics, and as the most influential and productive author in the family business research field in the last decade in a recent bibliometric study, he is a Family Capital Top 100 Family Business Influencerand has been inducted by Family Business United into The Family Business Hall of Fame. Alfredo serves on the boards of public and private organizations internationally, including in Italy, China, Hong Kong, Malaysia, the US, Germany, and the UK. Among various editorial roles, he is an editor of Entrepreneurship Theory & Practice, associate editor of Family Business Review, and his research has been cited over 30,000 times and published in the leading academic (e.g., AMJ, SMJ, OrgSci, JoM, JMS) and practitioner journals. Since 2020 he is the Co-Founder of the first Observatory on Italian Family Offices where he also serves as Chairman of the International Scientific Advisory Board.
Alberto del Bimbo
Emeritus Professor of Computer Engineering

Alberto Del Bimbo is Emeritus Professor of Computer Engineering at the University of Firenze, Italy where he served as Director of the Department of Systems and Informatics, from 1997 to 2000, Deputy Rector for Research and Innovation Transfer, from 2000 to 2006, and President of the Foundation for Research and Innovation, from 2007 to 2010. He was the Director of the Media Integration and Communication Center, MIUR Center of Excellence, from 2008 to 2020. He is the author of more than 500 scientific publications in Computer Vision, Multimedia Analysis, and Artificial Intelligence, which have appeared in some of the most prestigious scientific journals and conferences. In 2016, he was recognized as ACM Distinguished Scientist “in recognition of significant accomplishments in and impact on the computing field”.
He has served as Associate Editor ofIEEE Transactions on Pattern Analysis and Machine Intelligence, IEEE Transactions on Multimedia, Pattern Recognition, andMultimedia Tools and Applications, and as Editor-in-Chief ofACM Transactions on Multimedia Computing, Communications, and Applications. He was the General Chair of ICMCS’99 (IEEE Int’l Conference on Multimedia Computing and Systems),ACMMM’10(ACM Int’l Conference on Multimedia), ICMR’11(ACM Int’l Conference on Multimedia Retrieval),ECCV’12(European Conference on Computer Vision),ICPR’20(IAPR Int’l Conference on Pattern Recognition), ACMMM’22 and ACMMMAsia’24 (ACM Int’l Conf. on Multimedia Asia).He also served as Program Chair of many other highly ranked international conferences. From 2021 to 2025 he was the Chair of ACM SIGMM, the global Special Interest Group on Multimedia of ACM.
He has been the leading person of international and national projects and Scientific Advisor in the Advisory Board of international institutions and companies.
Vincenzo Piuri

Vincenzo Piuri has received his Ph.D. in computer engineering at Polytechnic of Milan, Italy. He is Full Professor in computer engineering at the University of Milan, Italy (since 2000). He has been Associate Professor at Polytechnic of Milan, Italy and Visiting Professor at the University of Texas at Austin, USA, and visiting researcher at George Mason University, USA.
His main research interests are: artificial intelligence, machine learning, pattern analysis and recognition, intelligent systems, signal and image processing, biometrics, industrial applications, cloud computing, and internet-of-things. Original results have been published in 400+ papers in international journals, proceedings of international conferences, books, and book chapters.
He is Fellow of the IEEE, Fellow of IFIP, Distinguished Scientist of ACM, and Senior Member of INNS. He is IEEE Region 8 Past Director (2025-28), and has been IEEE Region 8 Director (2023-24), IEEE Vice President for Technical Activities (2015), IEEE Director, President of the IEEE Systems Council, President and of the IEEE Computational Intelligence Society.
He is Editor-in-Chief of the IEEE Open Journal of Computer Society (2025-2026) and has been Editor-in-Chief of the IEEE Systems Journal (2013-19). He has been Associate Editor of the IEEE Transactions on Computers, the IEEE Transactions on Cloud Computing, the IEEE Transactions on Neural Networks, and the IEEE Transactions on Instrumentation and Measurement.
He received the IFIP Outstanding Research Award – WG 11.3 Data and Applications Security and Privacy (2025m the IEEE Instrumentation and Measurement Society Technical Award (2002), the IEEE TAB Hall of Honor (2019), and the Rudolf Kalman Professor Title of the Obuda University, Hungary. He is Honorary Professor at: Obuda University, Hungary; Guangdong University of Petrochemical Technology, China; Northeastern University, China; Muroran Institute of Technology, Japan; Amity University, India; Galgotias University, India; Chandigarh University, India; and BIHER, India.
