Ravello is a municipality situated above the Amalfi Coast (exactly 782 stairs above the town of Atrani), in the province of Salerno, Campania, with approximately 2,500 inhabitants. Its scenic location makes it a popular tourist destination, and earned it a listing as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1997.
Perched high above the Amalfi Coast, Ravello seems suspended between sky and sea, a terrace of light overlooking the infinite blue. Its quiet lanes unfold among medieval arches, fragrant gardens, and sun-warmed stone, preserving an atmosphere of refined serenity. From the panoramic belvederes, the horizon dissolves into a luminous haze, where cliffs plunge dramatically into the Mediterranean.

The conference will take place in the historic and breathtaking Villa Rufolo, located in the heart of Ravello on Italy’s Amalfi Coast. This iconic 13th-century villa, renowned for its striking Moorish architecture, cascading gardens and panoramic views over the Tyrrhenian Sea, offers an inspiring setting for our scientific programme and social events. Villa Rufolo is one of the most cherished cultural landmarks in the region, known for its rich history and special atmosphere that blends art, nature and Mediterranean beauty.
